Nuclear structure in parity doublet model

چکیده
Using an extended parity doublet model with the hidden local symmetry, we study some properties of nuclei in mean field approximation to see if could reproduce nuclear and also estimate value chiral invariant nucleon mass $$m_0$$ preferred by structure. We first determine our parameters using inputs from free space matter properties. Then, basic such as binding energy several different choices mass. observe that results approach experimental values is increased until $$m_0=700$$ MeV start deviate more experiments afterwards larger than MeV. From this observation, conclude then calculate selected compare them experiments. Finally, neutron-proton difference nuclei.

Chiral doublet model for positive and negative parity nucleons
We discuss the properties of the nucleon (N) and its excited state with odd parity (N∗) under the aspect of chiral symmetry, identifying them with suitable representations of the chiral group. It is shown that there are two distinctive schemes to assign the chiral multiplet to N and N∗. We construct linear σ models for N and N∗ with the two assignments to show their physical implications. We al...
متن کاملNeutron stars within the SU(2) parity doublet model
The equation of state of beta-stable and charge neutral nucleonic matter is computed within the SU(2) parity doublet model in mean field and in the relativistic Hartree approximation. The mass of the chiral partner of the nucleon is assumed to be 1200 MeV. The transition to the chiral restored phase turns out to be a smooth crossover in all the cases considered, taking place at a baryon density...

متن کاملAtomic parity nonconservation: Electroweak parameters and nuclear structure.
There have been suggestions to measure atomic parity nonconservation (PNC) along an isotopic chain, by taking ratios of observables in order to cancel complicated atomic structure effects. Precise atomic PNC measurements could make a significant contribution to tests of the Standard Model at the level of one loop radiative corrections. However, the results also depend upon certain features of n...
متن کاملParity Violating Measurements of Neutron Densities and Nuclear Structure
Parity violating electron nucleus scattering is a clean and powerful tool for measuring the spatial distributions of neutrons in nuclei with unprecedented accuracy. Parity violation arises from the interference of electromagnetic and weak neutral amplitudes, and the Z of the Standard Model couples primarily to neutrons at low Q. Experiments are now feasible at existing facilities. We show that ...
